Three long shadows are cast by the early morning sun. The receding wave cannot erase them from the shell-crusted sand.

I like the color of the shadows on the pebbly beach.

We like the color, too. The yellow light from the sun is blocked in the shadows, leaving the reflected blue light from the sky and ocean.
