Favorite Place to Visit: the Medici Fountain in the Luxembourg Gardens

This is our entry in The Daily Post Photo Challenge: Favorite Place.

Our favorite place to visit is La Fontaine Médicis dans le Jardin du Luxembourg (the Medici Fountain in the Luxembourg Gardens) in Paris, France.  To view the fountain properly, one must select two iconic green Parisian park chairs, one with arms and the other without, place the armed chair at the far side of the path with a good view of the fountain, place the unarmed chair directly in front but with back facing the fountain (while not blocking the path), place ones feet on the unarmed chair, and lean back to lose oneself in contemplation of the water features and statues Polyphemus Surprising Acis and Galatea as well as the other statues on the fountain behind and above this masterpiece.  The tourists in this photo didn’t need the extra chairs for a proper appreciation of the fountain.

This photo was taken on March 17, 2003. Specs are:

Canon PowerShot S40, ISO 50, f/2.8, 1/640 sec, 7 mm.
