This is our entry in Cee’s Which Way Photo Challenge – May 26, 2017.
The Jama Masjid in Old Delhi, India, is one of the largest mosques in India. Built between 1644 and 1656, it has four towers and two minarets, but only one tower is open to the public to climb. The sign below shows the way to the tower (but not to the ticket window): it is still not easy to find the entrance to the tower. The steps inside the tower are steep and narrow, the top holds fewer than a dozen people, and the ledge inside for standing is quite narrow. It would be easy to topple into the stairwell. A metal grill (which presents challenges in photography) runs around the top. However, the views are very good and worth the climb. Do take a camera but not a large backpack; it will make the climb difficult.
