This small birdhouse, about 7″ on a side outside and 180 cubic inches inside, has been home to two families of chickadees since it was placed in our backyard. It has already been investigated as a possible home again this year.

The design of this birdhouse is based on the Case Study House #1, designed by J. R. Davidson.  The house body is constructed of cedar, finished with linseed oil.  The roof is made of plexiglass and aluminium.  The birdhouse is mounted 5′ off the ground on the top of a metal pole.
