Ronald in Bangkok – Cee’s Odd Ball Photo Challenge: May 7, 2017

This is our entry in Cee’s Odd Ball Photo Challenge: May 7, 2017.

This photo of Ronald McDonald was taken in front of the McDonald’s in Siam Center, a popular mall in Bangkok, Thailand. With his hand gesture, he is saying สวัสดี ครับ (Sawasdee Krab), which is the polite phrase for “Hi,” “Hello,” “Nice to meet you,” “Good morning,” “Good afternoon,” “Good evening,” and “Bye.”  For us, this was a juxtaposition of the familiar with the unfamiliar.
