A Rose Hip Macro: Rosa x “New Dawn”

This is our entry in Sunday Stills: Are You Ready for Your #Close-Up? and in SUNSHINE’S MACRO MONDAY – 4.

After a summer of producing silvery-pink roses, the climbing rose “New Dawn” produces rose hips for the winter.   The rose hip pictured was about 1/2 inch in diameter when dissected. The white ball in the center is the seed. This image is a composite of eight separate images combined via focus stacking.
