Traffic Jam at Amber Fort – Cee’s Which Way Photo Challenge – April 21, 2017

This is our entry in Cee’s Which Way Photo Challenge – April 21, 2017.

In 2010, we toured the important sights of Jaipur, India, also known as the Pink City.  To enter the Amber Fort, we first took the elephant ride. We and hundreds of other Westerners rode a line of colorfully-dressed elephants up the hill while meeting a line of empty elephants coming back down. We felt sorry for the few people walking up, because they were dodging large elephants and their large poo. For 900 rupees (about $20 USD) for both of us (plus an illegal tip of 150 rupees), we were driven, in grubby style, by a grubbier mahout with an extremely authentic turban. But the ride was amazing fun.
