René et Dédé

This is our entry in Lost in Translation’s BLACK & WHITE SUNDAY: MUSIC challenge.

One fine Sunday morning in September 2016, we visited the open air market on Rue Mouffetard in the 5th arrondissement of Paris, France.  Here we came across the musical duo of René Miller and Dédé Macchabée.  As tourists, we had never heard of them, but their clothing and music gave them a certain 1930s vibe.  A quick Google search reveals that René is a “Louisiana-born guitarist, singer-songwriter and busker,” while Dédé is a “French singer and painter.” According to a flier for a concert at the Bayou des Sports, they specialize in “blues, hillbilly, and more.”  They certainly look the part.
