Not that way — Cee’s Which Way Photo Challenge – April 13, 2018

This is our entry in Cee’s Which Way Photo Challenge – April 13, 2018.

While walking along a marked trail in Huntley Meadows Park in Alexandria, Virginia, we came across a sign:

MAINTENANCE ROAD

INFORMAL TRAIL

This path is not recognized nor maintained by park staff. If you choose to use it, proceed with caution. The path may be uneven, wet, and difficult to follow.

We decided not to go that way.

Huntley Meadows Boardwalk — Cee’s Which Way Photo Challenge – March 23, 2018

This is our entry in Cee’s Which Way Photo Challenge – March 23, 2018 & Thursday Special Challenge.

Yesterday we went to Huntley Meadows Park in Alexandria, Virginia, to practice photography; we had not visited this park before. We followed a series of trails through the park, which is still a bit soggy from the recent snow.  We were amazed by the Heron Trail, which features a boardwalk through wetland, with its surface about two feet above the surface of the water for most of its length.  The photo was taken near the beginning of the boardwalk. The hikers ahead of us have chosen to go left at the first intersection.  We did, also; maybe we will chose to go to the right on our next visit.

A Tiny Flower Planet

We had a light snow last evening and it was dreary and cold today. For a break, we went to the greenhouse at Green Spring Gardens for a little cheer. We had just watched Gavin Hoey on YouTube,  showing an example of creating a tiny planet using flowers. We had to try it, too. Here is our result.  It made us feel better. We hope you like it, too!
